VetsAid Concert 2023: A Night of Rock, Gratitude, and Honor

VetsAid: The Concert for Our Veterans became a haven of honor and celebration at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California, on November 12, 2023. The night not only featured captivating live music performances but also placed a vital spotlight on some local incredible organizations dedicated to supporting veterans.

The evening was a heartfelt dedication to recognizing and supporting the night’s grant recipients. Outstanding organizations like CreatiVets, Fallen Patriots, TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors), Foundation for Women Warriors, Veterans Legal Institute, and Veterans Village of San Diego were acknowledged for their unwavering commitment to the well-being of our veterans.

The show kicked off with an inspiring opening ceremony led by the San Diego Marine Corps band, setting the tone for a memorable evening. Drew Carey, not only a seasoned entertainer but also the DJ and host, infused the event with his charismatic energy, creating a sense of camaraderie.

The festival-worthy performances from renowned artists like Lucius, The Flaming Lips, The War On Drugs, and Jeff Lynne’s ELO created an electrifying entertaining visual atmosphere. Jack Tempchin, the songwriter behind the iconic “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” shared a heartfelt rendition, underscoring the evening’s theme of gratitude before introducing his friend Joe Walsh. Before the night ended A special moment unfolded when Joe Walsh brought out Stephen Stills for a few songs.

In between these musical acts, the spotlight shifted to the true heroes of the night — the veterans. Their compelling stories, some video and some in person, vividly illustrated the impact of sponsor support in transforming lives. It was a moving interlude that reminded everyone of the tangible difference VetsAid makes in the lives of those who served.

The video intermissions between acts became a powerful platform for the grant recipient organizations to share their impactful stories, shedding light on the transformative work they do for Veterans. As each representative took the stage or video played, the audience witnessed the profound effect of community support in action, turning the night into more than just a concert but a rally for all veterans.

The entire atmosphere was filled with respect, gratitude, and the powerful spirit of unity. VetsAid 2023 transcended being a mere concert or festival; it was a celebration of rock and roll, a tribute to our veterans, and an expression of gratitude to all who have served. As the echoes of music and applause filled the night, the message of support for our veterans and the resounding support for organizations making a tangible difference in their lives left a mark of honor and appreciation.

And a Huge Thank you to Veeps for the livestream!
